    Who Is Susan Brauer?

"My purpose is to give as many women as I can a small nugget of knowledge to slip in their pockets for now and for later, to help them follow their dreams."   -Susan Brauer

Please allow me introduce myself.

My name is Susan Brauer; at present I am Dean of Technology at a DeVry University, Chicago, a successful engineer, mother of six, author, owner and president of a publishing company, and very actively working to empower women to believe in themselves, and to follow their dreams. However, this was not always the case. When starting out on the road to a higher education at the age of 33, my six children and my husband also came along for the ride. My original educational goal was to be a secretary and eight years later I graduated from the University of Illinois at Chicago with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering.

It is because of my journey from homemaker to hardware engineer that I have become passionate about sharing my experiences with other women for the purpose of enlightening, motivating, and encouraging them to pursue there own personal dreams. And it is for this purpose that I have taken the opportunity whenever it has been possible, to speak to women of all ages and backgrounds, hoping to slip nuggets of knowledge in there pockets, to be used in the present, or to be rediscovered when needed in their future.

In my “CHANGES”, “EFFECTIVE PRESENTATIONS”, “JUST KEEP DANCING: The Power of Change”, “BRINGING YOUR BOOK TO REALITY”, and “RETIREMENT...NOT!!” presentations and workshops I encourage women to take charge and direct the changes in their lives, empowering them to redefine themselves in their own eyes, as well as in the eyes of others.

Now for my night job; this it is what I envision will help fulfill my wildest dream, and that is to make a positive difference in lives of women who are looking for a way to find the courage and strength needed to move forward during difficult times. I have just released my first book, Just Keep Dancing, an autobiography in which I provide for the reader a look into the tapestry of my life. Having been among the 2.5 million American women per year that are abused, I provide for the reader a look into the tapestry of my life and turbulent twenty year relationship and marriage to an abusive spouse. Then in detailing the event that caused me to make a major life change, I tell how this self awakening brought control, success, and hope into my life.

Just Keep Dancing’s powerful message of triumph is an inspiration for those caught in the cycle of abuse. For others it is a compelling and uplifting read that also gives a deeper understanding of the one woman in three that is presently involved in a violent relationship.

Published by Dreamers Tapestry, Inc., Just Keep Dancing is available on the web at www.Amazon.com, right here on Dreamers Tapestry.com, or at your local bookstore.
